For long-term psychotherapy to be effective it is necessary to have consistency in our meetings. Generally, this will mean meeting at the same time each week except major holidays, serious illness and annual vacations. For short-term work, appointments can be scheduled as needed. I take about eight weeks of vacation per year and will generally give you two weeks of notice at minimum. The time we are scheduled to meet is reserved for you, and without 24 hours notice of cancellation, you will be charged your regular fee for that time regardless of your attendance. Regarding inclement weather and holidays, I follow the protocol and schedule of Seattle Public Schools. In the event of school closure for either reason, therapy will not be scheduled or will be canceled at no charge to you.
